Micro-Anchors Make the Difference

Unique, curved Micro-Anchors gently and securely grip the skin to keep the wound edges closed during the critical healing period. By design, common problems associated with conventional closure materials are potentially avoided. BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closures are designed for continuous use for up to 15 days.

With a firm grip and lasting hold, BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closures hold surgical incisions and lacerations closed with simplicity and strength. Transparent and not made with natural rubber latex, BandGrip is easily applied and removed.

Save Time

We know that orthopedic surgeons have tight schedules. Anything that can speed up extemporaneous activities like closing surgical wounds makes it easier to optimize scheduling to better serve the needs of patients. With BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closures, orthopedic surgeons and surgical assistants can close wounds faster than with traditional methods like sutures. Closure of a small incision was timed at <30 seconds* compared to sutures.

Happier Patients

BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closures can improve patients’ experience both in recovery and at home on their own. Unlike the raised surfaces of staples and zippers, and the “whiskers” associated with sutures, the smooth surface of BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closures don’t catch on dressings or clothing and patients can even shower with them on after 24 hours. And since BandGrip is minimally invasive, there are no additional wound punctures to the skin, reducing the concerns of negative cosmetic outcomes and negative perception of the surgeon’s work.

Application Instructions

  • 1Clean wound as per local protocols.
  • 2Ensure the application area is clean and dry.
  • 3Open sterile pouch using aseptic technique.
  • 4When taking the backing off, make sure gloves are dry to maintain the integrity of the adhesive.
  • 5Press and apply one side of the BandGrip firmly on skin, adjacent to wound edge.
  • 6With another hand, pinch and hold skin edges closed. Forceps may also be used.
  • 7Gently stretch BandGrip across pinched/closed edges and press BandGrip down on the other side of the wound to secure in place.
  • 8BandGrip can be tiled or applied along the length of the wound approximately 3mm apart.

Removal Instructions

  • 1Release the edges of BandGrip.
  • 2Support the skin adjacent to the wound as BandGrip is removed.
  • 3Gently pull back one side of BandGrip in the opposite direction of the wound to release the Micro-Anchors and to minimize any damage to the epidermis. Pull across to the other side to remove completely.

BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closures are designed for continuous use for up to 15 days. Tiny red pin holes may be visible upon removal and may last up to 2 weeks.
